Security key
What is Security key? Plain-language definition from the CybrCrime Intel Library.
A security key is a small physical device, often shaped like a USB stick or key fob, used to sign in securely. You plug it in or tap it on your phone using NFC, then touch it to confirm. Security keys use the same FIDO standards as passkeys and are tied to the real website, so they cannot be used on a fake phishing page. This makes them one of the strongest forms of MFA. They are popular for high-value accounts like email, admin accounts and journalists' or executives' logins. Register at least two keys, keeping one as a backup in a safe place, so losing one does not lock you out.
