Password reuse
What is Password reuse? Plain-language definition from the CybrCrime Intel Library.
Password reuse means using the same password, or small variations of it, on more than one account. For example, using Sunshine2024! for email, shopping and social media, or simply changing the number at the end. It is common because remembering many passwords is hard, but it is one of the biggest risks in everyday security. When any one site suffers a data breach, criminals try the leaked password everywhere else through credential stuffing. A password manager solves this by creating and remembering a different random password for every site, so you only need to remember one strong passphrase.
