Crypto wallet

What is Crypto wallet? Plain-language definition from the CybrCrime Intel Library.

A crypto wallet is an app, browser extension or small physical device that stores the keys that control your cryptocurrency. "Hot" wallets are apps connected to the internet, convenient for everyday use. "Hardware" or "cold" wallets are small devices that keep keys offline, offering stronger protection for larger amounts. When you connect a wallet to a website, the site can request signatures and approvals, and some of these grant permission to move your funds, so read every pop-up carefully. Every wallet is backed by a seed phrase. Wallets held on an exchange are managed by that company, so choose large, regulated exchanges and enable two-step login.
